Cambodia Welcomes the World for Francophonie 2026

This November, Cambodia will welcome international leaders and delegates for the 20th Francophonie Summit, marking the first time the country has hosted this important international gathering.

Taking place in Phnom Penh on November 15 and 16, 2026, the Summit brings together heads of state and government from across the Francophone community to discuss international cooperation, sustainable development and shared priorities. It is also an opportunity for Cambodia to strengthen international relationships and share its culture, heritage and progress with a wider audience.

Cambodia's connection to the Francophone world goes back many decades, with French influences still present in aspects of its architecture, education and cultural landscape. Today, these historical ties continue alongside the country's growing international connections and evolving identity.

Beyond the official meetings, Francophonie 2026 will also bring cultural celebrations and public activities to different parts of Cambodia.

In Phnom Penh, the Francophonie Village will take place at Wat Botum Vatey Garden from November 13 to 17. Visitors can explore cultural exhibitions, international cuisine, performances and activities highlighting the diversity of Francophone countries alongside Cambodia's own traditions and creative communities.

Siem Reap will also join the celebrations with its Francophonie Village from November 6 to 8 along the Siem Reap River. The three-day event will feature food, music, cultural performances, workshops and activities for families, bringing together local residents and international visitors in a welcoming riverside setting.

Together, these events offer different ways to experience Francophonie, from international dialogue and cooperation to the everyday connections created through food, arts and culture.

For Cambodia, hosting the Summit is an opportunity to introduce more people to the country as it is today, from its rich heritage and traditions to its evolving cities, creative industries and growing business communities.

Whether you're attending one of the cultural events or simply curious to learn more, November offers a timely opportunity to discover Cambodia and the people and experiences that make it unique.
