Bakong Village Mock Up Unit Launches
ULS hosted two events for Bakong Village, announcing the opening of the mockup houses. Each event addressed a different range of audiences, and both were designed and decorated with the help of Oriviz Studio in Phnom Penh.
Kesor welcomes guests into the “A” unit, which she and her sister bought on their own prior to being asked to organize the event.
February 8 - Soft Launch
On Saturday and Sunday 8-9 February, the Bakong Village team welcomed over 200 guests with official ribbon-cutting, speeches from the Siem Reap Chamber of Commerce, and a dance performance, capping everything off with a roasted pig. Guests got the first look at each of the five units. All lower level doors were opened to illustrate the feel of the community layout.
March 8 - Public Open House
On Sunday, March 8 Bakong Village partnered with Plerng Kob welcoming Siem Reap residents to experience Bakong Village first hand. Part role playing, part BBQ and part tour, the event allowed visitors to meet with each of the families “living” in each of the new homes. While turnout was lower than expected due to the announcement of school closings the night before, those who came were treated to an authentic feel of the space and a mini concert by Bakong Village homebuyer, Kesor Rithy of Small World Small Band.
